Germany supports ongoing activities of the ICC in Kenya through development co-operation. In particular, through its International Co-operation Agency, Germany is working with state-institutions and non-state actors of civil society. Particular attention is paid to the sectors of witness protection, registering of witnesses, participation in trials and trauma counselling. Furthermore improvement of access to information on ICC-trials and strengthening a coordinated approach of civil society-actors. Indirect aid is provided to subjects like "Coming to terms with historic injustice", "Strengthening of the law- and justice-sector" as well as "Enforcing internationally recognized human rights"
