Modalities for Roundtable with shortlisted candidates for Registrar
1. Timing
There will be two sessions of roundtables and each will have a duration of two hours. The first session
will take place on Tuesday, 11 October and the second one on Wednesday, 12 October 2022, from
10:30-12:30 (New York) / 16:30-18:30 (The Hague). Streaming will be available to the public with a
30-minute delay. Audiences will be able to see it from 11:00-13:00 (New York) / 17:00-19:00 (The
Hague).
2. Location
Virtual roundtables utilizing the Court’s Webex platform with technical support from the Court’s
Information Management Services Section (IMSS). Moderators will connect via Courtroom III (ICC
premises). Candidates will only connect to the platform remotely, to ensure an equal opportunity for
all candidates. The roundtables will be viewed online through a web-stream. Recordings of the
roundtables will also be made available on the ASP website afterwards.
3. Moderation
The Assembly Vice-President, Ambassador Katerina Sequensova (Czech Republic), will open and
close the roundtables.
Three moderators, one from States Parties and two from civil society. The moderators will be the
following:
o Vice-President Ambassador Sequensova will moderate both sessions and will pose questions
during the State Parties segment.
o Civil society representatives, Ms. Alejandra Vicente (Redress) and Ms. Evelyn Ankumah
(Africa Legal Aid), will pose questions during the civil society segment.
4. Candidates
At the eighth meeting of The Hague Working Group, on 15 September 2022, Ambassador Sequensova
drew lots in order to decide which candidates will participate at each session, as reflected below:

5. Format
The roundtables will include two sessions, one for each list of candidates. The first one will take place
on Tuesday, 11 October and the second one on Wednesday, 12 October. The candidates will connect
to their respective session only.

6. Questions
States Parties were invited to submit questions for the State Party segment in advance. The deadline for
submission was Friday, 16 September. The Vice-President will pose the questions from States Parties.
Civil society was also invited to submit questions in advance. The civil society moderators will collect
and structure the questions from civil society.
In principle, moderators will have the discretion to pose follow-up questions and clarifications during
the roundtables.
Questions will not be shared with candidates ahead of the roundtable.
No questions involving matters pending before the Court.
7. Language
Simultaneous interpretation in English and French.
The web-stream and recordings will be available in the floor language, English and French.
