The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss proposals to amendment the Rome Statute. As in previous meetings I invite proponents to update the WGA on their respective proposals, also by way of expert briefings.
With reference to our previous discussions of the war crimes amendment I wish to reiterate my objective as Chair to seek to facilitate agreement around the proposal with the purpose of submitting an amendment to the Secretary General for notification to States Parties no later than three months prior to the ASP (around June). I therefore kindly ask that delegations are sufficiently prepared to engage in substantive discussions on the amendment.
