Special meeting of the New York Working Group convened to witness the Deposit by the Republic of El Salvador of its instrument of accession to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and of its instruments of acceptance of the Amendments to the Rome Statute adopted in Kampala in 2010.
El Salvador is the first State to ratify the Rome Statute in its 2010 version. With this deposit, El Salvador becomes the 124th State Party to the Rome Statute, the 29th to the Kampala Amendment to article 8, and the 27th to the Kampala Amendment related to the crime of aggression.
The meeting and deposit ceremony will take place in at the United Nations Headquarters, in Conference Room 6 on Thursday 3 March from 10.45 to 12.00.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, H.E. Mr Hugo Roger Martinez Bonilla will deposit the instrument in the presence of the Assistant Secretary-General for Legal Affairs Stephen Mathias. The Chief of the UN Treaty Section or a designated officer will officiate at the ceremony.
