The President of the Assembly of States Parties (“the Assembly”), Ambassador Tiina Intelmann, visited The Hague on 13 and 14 November 2014. During her last visit as the President of the Assembly, Ambassador Intelmann met with the Court officials and expressed her gratitude for their support and cooperation during her three year mandate. Ambassador Intelmann held the position of the President of the Assembly from its tenth session in 2011 and will be succeeded by the Minister of Justice of Senegal, H.E. Mr. Sidiki Kaba, who was endorsed for the position of President of the Assembly for the next triennium. Minister Kaba’s mandate would start on 8 December 2014 and last until the end of the sixteenth session of the Assembly in 2017.
On 14 November, President Intelmann proceeded with a joint visit to The Hague with Minister Kaba and on this occasion they attended a meeting of the Bureau and met with States Parties representatives from The Hague and Brussels. During the meeting with States Minister Kaba thanked the States Parties for endorsing him for the position of the President of the Assembly and announced that Ambassador Álvaro Moerzinger (Uruguay) would be recommended as Vice-President of the Assembly and Coordinator of The Hague Working Group for the next triennium.
