Advisory Committee on nominations of judges of the International Criminal Court

The Advisory Committee on Nominations of Judges assists States Parties in the selection of judges of the International Criminal Court by evaluating candidates and providing recommendations on their qualifications and suitability for judicial office.

The Committee also contributes to the development of good practices relating to judicial nominations, including national-level nomination procedures and evaluation processes, with a view to promoting transparency, fairness and the selection of highly qualified candidates. 

Members

At the 1st plenary meeting of its twenty-third session, on 2 December 2024, the Assembly  appointed the following nine members of the Advisory Committee on the nominations on judges for a three-year term commencing on 9 December 2024:

3. Mr. Guido Hildner (Germany) 
4. Ms. Milica Kolaković-Bojović (Serbia) 
5. Mr. O-Gon Kwon (Republic of Korea)
6. Mr. Jaime Moscoso Valenzuela (Chile)
7. Ms. Ngozika Okaisabor Uwazurunonye (Nigeria)
8. Mr. Diego Pary Rodríguez (Bolivia); and 
9. Mr. Mauro Politi (Italy)

I. Mandate

The terms of the members will run from 9 December 2024 to 8 December 2027. 

The Committee members would normally be designated for three-year terms, with the possibility of being re-elected only once.
