The Study Group on Governance supports dialogue between States Parties and the Court on matters relating to governance, institutional effectiveness and the functioning of the Rome Statute system. It serves as a forum for identifying opportunities to strengthen the Court's institutional framework while fully preserving its judicial independence.
The Study Group considers governance-related reform initiatives, follows the implementation of relevant recommendations from the Assembly and examines proposals aimed at improving the efficiency, effectiveness and administration of the Court. It also contributes to discussions on amendments to the Rules of Procedure and Evidence and other governance-related issues.
